Novak trio is a very productive ensemble. It has annually realised about 50 concerts in the Czech republic as well as abroad. Cooperates with many symphonic and chamber orchestras.
Novak trio has been regularly recording for Czech radios or for other reputed publishers. The present ensemble consisting of Gabriela Krckova- oboe, Stepan Koutnik - clarinet and Vladimir Lejcko - bassoon has been effective since September 1984.
Novak trio has been appreciated by general music public not only for its work but also for newly presentation of music literature from Schwarzenberg's archives in Český Krumlov - besides compositions by Beethoven, Haydn, Vent, Vranický or Kramář - Krommer. Together with stage work Novak Trio has recorded many of these musical jewels on CD.
Repertoire of Novak trio is based on classical music literature but includes also work of the 20th century. In the list of concrete titles we can find transcriptions of Bach, Salieri, Mozart, Haydn, Myslivecek, Vanhal, Dusek, Druzecky besides opuses by Auric, Milhaud, Ibert, Bozza, Kassandjiew, Tansman, Tomasi and many others. Specific part of the Trio’s repertoire presents 20th century Czech composers as is Schulhoff, Martinu, Krejci, Slavicky, and Odstrcil.
Many of contemporary composers are interested in the instrument structure of Novak trio and have composed opuses right for them. Among these authors we can find such interesting names as Ilja Hurnik, Jaroslav Krcek, Tomas Svoboda, Jindrich Feld or Petr Pokorny.
